Olli Varis

Olli Varis plays the guitar and mandolin in many top Finnish folk music groups. He has formerly played in Värttinä and Koinurit. His present groups include Maria Kalaniemi's Aldargaz and he also plays with the singer Anna-Kaisa Liedes.

Ever since his student years, Olli Varis has worked on different methods and styles applicable to folk music. He teaches ensemble playing at the Department of Folk Music at the Sibelius Academy.
