Comp. Roope Aarnio, Veera Voima, lyrics trad., arr. Roope Aarnio, Emilia Lajunen, Veera Voima.

5. The Bear

Comp. Roope Aarnio, Veera Voima, lyrics trad., arr. Roope Aarnio, Emilia Lajunen, Veera Voima.

When the bear was hunted in midvinter, it had to be woken. If it was killed while a sleep, its spirit would have stayed in the dreamlands and it would have been free to get its revenge. The bear's capture was celebrated in a party resembling a wedding, in which the bear was highly honored. After the feast, its bones were returned to the forest and its skull was lifted high up on a pine tree so that the bear could be reborn.

And how my luck turned away. When I fell asleep in the sweet grass, a thief came. He took my treasure and carelessly spilled it on the ground."

11. I Would Dance

Comp. trad., lyrics Veera Voima, arr. Roope Aarnio, Emilia Lajunen, Veera Voima.

"I would like to dance,
and so would you.
But there are always too many toes.
The hands tire so, the back gets sweaty
when we glide on the floor.
The others are watching
and I dont care
- finally we are quiet.

Your hands tighten around me,
and I remove the mobiletelephone from between us.
Sweat and breath stream together.
And I know that this is it.
Hey, what did you do?
Please do it again,
so the dance floor stops.
When the air gets thicker,
the toes intertwine."

Roope Aarnio: guitar, e-bow, mandolin, backing vocals
Emilia Lajunen: fiddle, keyed fiddle, backing vocals
Veera Voima: lead vocals, kantele, overtone flute, recorder, low whistle, shaker, shaman drum
