I Talk to the Trees

Fiddle-singing is the essence of my first solo CD. I first started combining fiddling and singing in the group Loituma. Gradually I came to feel that this is the instrument that's truly mine. My musical roots are in Finnish folk music but the melodies found here are also flavoured with elements of Swedish and Irish music. My inspiration often comes from simple but touching things such as the Kanteletar poems, folk dances or nature.

The translations of the lyrics are not literal, but should anyway give an impression of the ideas behind the songs.
